End-of-Course Examination Program (EOCEP) for All High Schools

The South Carolina Board of Education requires participation in the End-of-Course Examination Program (EOCEP) for students enrolled in gateway courses which are awarded credit in English 2, Algebra 1, Biology 1, and the United States History and the Constitution (USHC). The EOCEP examination scores count 20 percent in the calculation of the student’s final grade.

Over the past three years, the ARMES (Arts Reaching Middle and Elementary Schools) program has been on an incredible growth journey, doubling in size to reach more students in our community. This expansion has brought two new program sites to Hillcrest and Greer Middle Schools, allowing Greenville County Schools to offer greater access to high-quality, rigorous gifted and talented arts education.

GCS Reopens for Students on Wednesday, October 9

Greenville County Schools will reopen Wednesday, October 9 and transportation will run modified bus routes. Families will be contacted directly if a temporary bus stop is necessary; please answer and listen to voicemails to receive this information. Tuesday, October 8, will be a teacher/all staff workday. There will be no in-person school or eLearning for students; school and district offices will be open to the public. There are no field trips for the rest of this week. Decisions regarding athletics will be made on an individual basis and announced through the schools.

Community Resource Fair Set for Oct. 8

Join City staff and elected officials as we welcome local workforce agencies, support organizations and educational institutions to the CommUNITY Resource Fair at the Prisma Health Welcome Center in Unity Park on Tuesday, October 8, from 4 to 7 p.m. There will also be hourly giveaways and prizes as well as free activities for kids.

Pitch Hit and Run is the official skills competition of Major League Baseball. This program is designed to provide youth with an opportunity to compete, free of charge, in a competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball/softball skills.
