Pitch Hit and Run is the official skills competition of Major League Baseball. This program is designed to provide youth with an opportunity to compete, free of charge, in a competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball/softball skills. Boys and girls have a chance to advance to the Major League Team Championships and to the MLB World Series. Proof of age and grade is required upon check-in.

Beginning Monday, May 6, the Cancer Survivors Park boardwalk will be closed from 8 a.m. on Mondays until 5 p.m. on Fridays while the boardwalk decking is replaced in sections. The boardwalk will be open on Saturdays and Sundays. The weekday closure is expected to be in effect until June 15.

The City of Greenville Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department will be offering a Teen Summer Leadership Program for youth ages 12-15 years old. The 8-week camp will offer a variety of activities, interactive workshops, exploratory and educational field trips, guest speakers and much more. Participants will also be a part of programming sessions that help them gain knowledge in effective communication, healthy living, financial literacy, and career planning that will ultimately prepare them for their future. Teens will leave feeling more equipped to handle life while enjoying an adventurous summer that is sure to create lasting memories and friendships.
