It’s a bird. It’s a plane. It’s the International Space Station. According to NASA, the International Space Station (ISS) could be visible in the SC night skies through Thursday, Feb. 13. Residents of Beaufort, Columbia, Hilton Head, Myrtle Beach, and Greenville will have the best chances of seeing the ISS.

NASA says it will look like “an airplane or a bright star moving quickly across the sky.” Unlike planes, there ISS doesn’t have flashing lights and it won’t change directions. The typical top speed for planes is ~600 mph, but our friend ISS will shoot across the sky at ~17,500 mph.
